Rochester N.Y. A not guilty plea today from a Rochester man in connection with a homicide earlier this month.
Police say Donkavius Howard shot and killed 35-year-old Demetric Tatum on Clay Avenue earlier this month.
Howard is charged with first-degree murder. He may face additional charges.
According to Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Perry Duckles, Howard was paid money to kill Tatum. Duckles said Tatum was the victim of a previous shooting and authorities are looking into whether he was killed to prevent him from testifying in that case.No one else has been charged in the case.
Howard will be back in court February 25. He ,for now, is being held in the Monroe county Jail without bail.
