Four 16-and-17 -year-olds were charged with disorderly conduct. Three were juveniles and were released to their parents.
Police were called in by the school resource officer after a fight broke out between Northwest and Northeast High students in the lunchroom. A fire alarm went off while the fight was being broken up. The alarm was a malfunction, not triggered by students. But the result was to move the fight outside where police say about 50 other students became involved and the group refused to disperse.
Police then used pepper spray to break it up.
Police have identified Anthony Jackson, 16; Chantel Brown, 16; Orson Delacruz, 17 and Nathanael Hernandez, 17 as those charged. Names of the three juveniles are not being released.
