Pembrooke N.Y.- A Genesee County family had a sudden and unwelcome visitor last night when an SUV crashed clear through their house and into the back yard.
Homeowners Peter and Lynette Swendson were home along with their two children when the car came through their dining room wall. None of them were hurt, but their house was extensively damaged.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Office said Jason Purdy was driving on Marble Road in Pembroke when he came to the T-intersection with Akron Road. Instead of stopping, Purdy went on across the intersection, full-tilt up the driveway of 721 Akron Road, through the front wall of the house and out the back.
The case is still under investigation, but deputies said alcohol was a contributing factor*. Volunteers from four fire departments temporarily shored up the house.
