Rochester N.Y.- Last night, Friends and family gathered to remember a 17-year-old girl that was struck and killed while crossing Dewey Avenue Tuesday night.

Brittany Burgio  was walking from 7-Eleven to her grandmother’s house when she was hit. Friends say she was smart, a fighter, and someone who cared deeply about her family. Brittany had attended East Rochester High School until she stopped going in the fall.

The 23-year-old driver who hit her was ticketed for driving without a license.
