Post Malone's Plane Safely Makes Emergency Landing After Blowing Out Tires

To everyone's relief, the private jet carrying Post Malone and his entourage landed safely on Tuesday afternoon (August 21) after hours of circling in the air to burn fuel.

As we previously reported, the private plane was forced to perform an emergency landing after two of the front tires allegedly blew out after takeoff. TMZ reported that Malone and his entourage were on their way to London from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey when the Gulfstream Aerospace GLF-4 luxury jet's tires blew out. In a clip of the air traffic audio, the pilot admitted that they had lost the tires and asked permission to circle above for an emergency landing. An insider close to TMZ revealed that the air traffic control urged the pilot to continue the flight to Massachusetts in order to burn more fuel for a safer crash landing. After it was diverted to Westfield Barnes Regional Airport, the jet rerouted once again to Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, New York.

After the incident, Post took to Twitter to break his silence on the scare. "I landed guys. Thank you for your prayers," he wrote. "Can't believe how many people wished death on me on this website. F**k you. But not today."

No word on what caused the tires to blow out, but Suran Wijayawardana, COO of Alerion Aviation, told the Washington Post that could be several potential causes for the mishap, including "debris on the runway, a brake seizure on one of the main wheels which cause the tires to lock up and burn through or a tire worn below limits based on the prior landing and high ambient temperature.”

"So far, as it sounds, the crew is following protocol and doing the right thing, the most critical being the decision to continue the takeoff and not try and brake abruptly," she said via email. "By leaving the gear down and burning off fuel, they are clearly following the best procedures and safety protocols."
