Wendy Williams has contracted a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

The 57-year-old talk show host's team announced the news on Instagram Wednesday (September 15), additionally noting that Wendy has been forced to delay the return of The Wendy Williams Show because of her COVID diagnosis.

“While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,” the statement read. “To allos Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and SGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season…on Monday, October 4.”

The statement added, "In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled."

The announcement of Wendy's COVID-19 diagnosis comes five days after her team announced on Instagram that she was "unable to complete her promotional activities" this week because she was "dealing with some ongoing health issues."
