I freaking love Shaquille O’Neal. This highly decorated athlete is a beloved meme, has dozens of famous endorsement deals, is a high-profile sports commentator, AND is becoming increasingly well known for his random acts of kindness.
He once said that he likes to make people smile, and tries to do one good deed a day, and that blessing landed on a young man in a jewelry store last week.
Shaq overheard this groom-to-be ask how much he still owed on an engagement ring, and BOOM, Shaq to the rescue. He came over and told him he’d take care of the ring, just worry about taking care of his girl.
I think we should all strive to be a bit more like Shaq- we may not have the same finances, but we can certainly aspire to make one person smile a day.
