Summer, in Rochester, means Abbot's Frozen Custard. Joe Orden, the Director of Franchise Operations for the company, will tell us the origin story of Abbot's which dates all the way back to 1902 when a man named Arthur Abbot needed some income to support his gambling.
In the 1950s, another family bought the business and slowly, over time, turned it in to what it is today.
With locations throughout the Northeast and up and down the East coast, we'll learn how Abbot's became what it is today, how the company deals with the seasonality of its business, and just what makes that custard so darn good.
Also, Giuseppe Paciullo (Fiamma, Fiamma Centro) tells us the story of how he made his way from Italy, to NYC, and eventually to Rochester to start his restaurants.
