Ryan Seacrest Shares What It’s Like to Visit the White House

Wednesday, January 20, 2021 marks President-elect Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day. The former VP and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn in as President and Vice President.

Biden will become the 46th president. The ceremony takes place at noon in Washington, D.C., at The Capitol. Former Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton will attend. Lady Gaga is set to perform the national anthem and Jennifer Lopez will perform as well.

“I have been to the White House. I’ve been in the Oval Office,” Ryan Seacrest recalled on-air ahead of the historic day. “I was there when Barack Obama was president, and I was there to go to the Children’s Hospital with [First Lady] Michelle Obama. … One of the aides said, ‘Do you want to go check out the Oval Office before the President comes down the elevator?’ And I was like, ‘Uh, yeah!’”

Seacrest shared he walked around the Oval Office and first wanted to look at the desk and phone.

“I looked at the phone because I was so curious to see what the buttons were on the phone. … Like, what nations are on speed dial?”

The duo then traveled together in the motorcade to read "The Night Before Christmas" to children at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
