Los Angeles, Santa Ana & More School Districts Eliminate ‘D’ and ‘F’ Grades

Several large school districts in the state have decided to drop “D” and “F” grades in an effort to "help students re-engage in school after distance learning and boost their chances of acceptance into the state’s public college."

Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Oakland Unified, Sacramento City Unified and others large districts are looking to phase out the use of “Ds” and “Fs” when it comes to grading students.

Students who fail a test or other class assignment will be able to get a do-over or more time to complete the assignment. Those who don't pass or complete the work by the end of the semester will receive an incomplete.
